The Tattoo is Edinburgh's big annual military celebration.
Up on the Castle Esplanade every August, the massed ranks of various military
bands perform to the delight of packed audiences, including a small fireworks
display and a haunting finale from a lone piper. This year will be a commemoration
of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. Those lucky enough
to grab tickets will be treated to performances by the Massed Bands of
Her Majesty's Royal Marines; the Massed Highland Dancers; the King's Guard
from Norway and bands from the USA and Russia. For more information
