This is the public art gallery of The University of Edinburgh. They have a commitment to showing exhibitions of contemporary Scottish and International artists, promoting knowledge, understanding and new ideas through historic collections, thematic exhibitions, events and publications. There are five major contemporary exhibitions per year in the White Gallery. The round room is a unique architectural space on the upper level, which promotes experimental projects and installations. The University's Fine Art Collections are shown in the Georgian Gallery designed by William Playfair. The current display consists of Old Master paintings and bronzes. Temporary historic exhibitions and collections are shown throughout the year.
