In recent years many of Edinburgh's nightclubs have been sent into the phone box to spin around quickly and re-emerge as a potent super power. The nightclub once known as The Jaffa Cake and, more recently, Gaia has sunk its teeth into a new appearance with two levels of well-heeled dance floors and bars that you can see your skin cells in. The music remains in a commercial vein with all the greatest pop tunes of the day backslapping the grand old hits of yore. I estimate that in this city you are never more than 100 yards away from a DJ playing Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison. Stereo is likely to oblige.
