This unique museum has been open to the public since 1983. Set in Lady
Victoria Colliery, one of the finest examples of a Victorian colliery
in Europe, all of the guides here are former miners themselves. Visitors
can view two floors of exhibitions, a "magic helmet" tour, interactive
room, recreated coalface & roadway and film theatres, all telling
the story of Scotland's coal mining history from Jurassic times.
