The decline of retail banking due to modern technological advancement
and other complicated factors, has brought a spate of banks being converted
into pubs. Many of the buildings are graceful, century-old, architectural
masterpieces, which when converted lose none of their charm and elegance,
but somehow garner a livelier clientele. The Bank Hotel may not be the
most creative name for an erstwhile financial establishment, but the large,
central wooden bars and sociable booths make the experience of dispensing
with your money more initially enjoyable, until you realise that your
cash isn't going into your savings account and those beers weren't complimentary.
