Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival
29th July - 7 August 2005

The biggest jazz event in Britain kicks off the Festival month with 10 days of sublime music from some of the world's best-loved names, as well as many rising stars of the genre. 120 concerts will happen across the city, featuring the likes of Jools Holland, Wallace Roney, Pinetop Perkins, Ken Peplowskti, Kenny Ball, Tommy Smith and Dee Dee Bridgewater. There are also many free events at various Starbuck's, to complement their sponsorship of the Festival as well as two major free events: Mardi Gras in the Grassmarket and Jazz on a Summer's Day at the Ross Theatre in Princes Street Gardens.
