Prais Restaurant

This tiny little restaurant on the Royal Mile is an extremely Scottish
experience. Firstly, set in one of the Old Town's ancient buildings, it
is intrinsically Edinburgh. Secondly, the walls are hand painted with
images of Walter Scott and Edinburgh Castle - bit of a giveaway. But importantly,
it is the Scottish nature of the food which stands out. With starters
like haggis in a whiskey cream sauce and mains like venison and lamb,
you know exactly where you are. A very unique experience, even the name
is gaelic for a cooking pot, apparently. A very Scottish experience, if
that's what you're after.
