Brass Rubbing Centre

Trinity Apse
Chalmers Close, Royal Mile
0131 556 4364

Trinity Apse is the only surviving fragment of the Gothic Trinity College Church, which was founded by Queen Mary of Gueldres, wife of James II, around 1460. The centre contains a collection of replicas moulded from ancient Pictish stones, rare Scottish brasses and medieval church brasses. You can try your hand at making a rubbing yourself, with guidance from the staff. There are also ready-made rubbings, brass rubbing kits, booklets, postcards and gifts available.

Apr - Sep: Mon - Sat 10:00 - 17:00
Sun (Aug only): 12:00 - 17:00

Free (with charges for making a rubbing)
