They really know how to dine at The Atholl. The interior of this hotel restaurant is charming, with an old plasterwork ceiling and skirting boards that are carved to waist height. Table linens are carefully laid to conceal diner's legs on one side but not obstruct seating. It's a lovely setting with polished, accomplished staff, so much so that it's packed on a Sunday evening, which can't a bad sign, but add to that the truly exquisite food, and it all becomes clear why people are clamouring for a table. So join the queue, it's so worth it.
